Title: Denmark’s nutrient management evolution through four decades: Solutions, effects and learnings 

Presenter: Dr. Brian Kronvang, Department of Ecoscience, Aarhus University, Denmark

Presentation topic: Dr. Kronvang will share the main effects, solutions implemented and learnings from four decades of nutrient management in Denmark where after 40 years have changed from a national top-down approach to a regionalized bottom-up approach involving all stakeholder groups in finding solutions for meeting national set targets for mainly nitrogen losses to a total of 108 coastal waters in Denmark under the Green Tripartite Agreement from 2024.

Speaker Biography: Dr. Kronvang holds a MSc and PhD in Geoscience and has 40 years of experience in catchment science research with main focus on sediment and nutrient sources, dynamics and retention. He has been heavily involved in advisory support for the Danish Environmental Ministry on developing Nature-based solutions as well as support for monitoring of sediment and nutrients under the National Danish Environmental Monitoring Programme.
